The Nexus of Yoga + Backpacking

Why join Trailbound?

  • Intro to the Backcountry

We don’t just guide; we empower. Every Trailbound retreat integrates a Backpacking 101 curriculum designed to turn gear-intimidation into backcountry confidence. Led by certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and Leave No Trace (LNT) facilitator, you’ll learn essentials like trip planning, gear selection, and trail safety in a supportive, ego-free environment. With personalized pre-trip planning sessions included, you’ll step onto the trail feeling fully prepared and leave with new skills to explore the wild on your own terms.

  • Deepen Your Practice

Yoga feels different in the wild because it is. Led by certified instructors skilled in Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa, and intelligent sequencing, our sessions move beyond the studio and into the elements. We integrate pranayama and meditations inspired by Japanese Forest Bathing to align your breath with the rhythms of the earth. Whether it’s a sunrise sun salutation or a grounding flow before hitting the trail, you’ll find a seamless connection between movement, mindfulness, and the landscape around you.

  • We Handle the Logistics

We pack the stress so you can pack the bag. From navigating permits and trail conditions to custom-sequencing your yoga sessions, we handle the complex details of backcountry & yoga planning. We assist with gear rentals, provide communal gear (tents, camp kitchen, yoga mats) to ensure you’re fully prepared without the overhead. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned trekker, our mission is to remove the friction, leaving you free to simply arrive and connect with the wild.

  • Community of Adventurers

Whether you’re a first-time hiker or a seasoned explorer, Trailbound Yoga is built on the belief that we go further together. Through shared challenges and intentional group reflections, you’ll build authentic relationships that turn strangers into a supportive tribe. Together, we navigate both real and metaphorical mountains, celebrating every milestone overcome. You’ll leave the trail with more than just a sense of accomplishment, you’ll leave with a lasting community and a renewed sense of empowerment that follows you home.

On the trail and the mat, you enter a flow stateβ€”where time fades, the ego dissolves, and movement aligns with breath, creating presence and harmony with nature.

About Your Guide

Woman outdoors at sunset with a yoga mat and backpack

My connection to the wilderness is deeply rooted in my family’s history, with roots in both Alaska and Montana. Raised in Washington State, I grew up surrounded by a lineage of adventurers, spending my childhood exploring the Cascades, Olympics, and Selkirk ranges. My family’s tales of resilience and their passion for the outdoors shaped my sense of purpose and ignited my lifelong love for backpacking and the backcountry.

In my early twenties, after facing a personal crossroads, yoga became my refuge, grounding me when I felt lost. This practice became my anchor and sparked a deeper connection to both mind and body. It was then that I realized a calling: to combine my love for the wilderness with yoga. Now, as a wilderness guide and yoga instructor, I create accessible outdoor experiences that help others reconnect with nature, build resilience, and cultivate inner peace through yoga in the wild.

What People Say

β€œWhere do I even begin? Disconnecting from my phone and immersing myself in nature did wonders for my mental health. It was also incredible to build meaningful connections with like-minded women. Everyone got along so well, and there were countless opportunities to have real conversations and get to know each person on the trip. I loved how meditative the experience was and how it allowed me to be fully present, free from worries or anxieties about my life back home. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt completely prepared thanks to the info session. I was also so impressed by the food, it exceeded all expectations. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I would absolutely go again. I will go anywhere with Trailbound Yoga!”
